Valentine’s Gifts for The Geek In Your Life
Last time I posted a geeky Valentine gift guide, it seemed to be well-liked. So here’s a brand new list of ideas for your geeky Valentine! And before anybody get’s all snooty about Valentine’s Day being a month away…I know. I also know that shipping items purchased online can take a while. So it’s good to shop early. This will be Part 1 of 2 (with Part 2 to feature Etsy and other non-Amazon items). (Sorry, third trimester fatigue hit me hard, and Part 2 didn’t get finished on time.) Most of these gift ideas are more than just things, they come with ideas and opportunities for an extra special, thoughtful touch and/or quality time with your loved one. After all, Valentine’s Day is more about being with the people we love than it is gifts.
For The Gamer Geek:
From the much beloved game Portal:
These will bring a touch of whimsy to your gamer’s car. And if you wanna get really romantic, you can take ‘em out for a spin and go park somewhere secluded.
For any hard-core World of Warcraft player:
Slip a gift card to your Valentine’s favorite eatery or the movie theater inside and go out for a date. Alternatively, you can buy an Alliance wallet.
For The Whovian Who Stole Your Heart(s):
Fill with heart-shaped sugar cookies and your beloved Dr. Who fan’s heart(s) may start beating a samba.
For Your Zombie Fanatic:
The Walking Dead, everybody’s favorite undead series! Curl up on the couch and snuggle close through every creepy minute. And if your Valentine loves the show already, but hasn’t read the graphic novels that inspired it all, why not get him or her…
There’s also:
The book that inspired the upcoming World War Z movie. And while the trailers for the Brad Pitt flick make it look like it will totally suck, the book does the total opposite of sucking. I’ve read it twice, it’s so fantastic. I even met the author at last year’s Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. He was a riot. Amazing how such a wonderfully horrifying post-apocalyptic book can come from the mind of such a funny guy.
For The Tolkein-Nerd:
Jewelry is a traditional Valentine’s gift. And this ring is sure to become very precious to your beloved.
Include a gift certificate for a local beer making class for two and your loved one will fondly remember your unique date night every time he or she has a beer.
Wrap this letter opener with a year’s supply of love notes (weekly or monthly depending on how many you feel up to writing).
For Your Favorite Star Wars Fan:
This fun LEGO set is from the best of the Star Wars’ movies, The Empire Strikes Back. Build it together for some bonding time…or step back and watch your Valentine go to town if they’re the sort to prefer assembling their LEGO solo (yes, that was a terrible pun).

Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy (available for: XBOX 360, Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, GameCube, XBOX, GameBoy Advance, PC, MAC, and PS2)
Another LEGO option, this will provide plenty of fun time together as a couple. And even if you’re not usually a gamer, you might find you enjoy playing the LEGO franchise games. In fact, the whole family may fall in love with this game.

Awesome ideas! However, there needs to be an option for the Harry Potter geek!
So, can you see the products? Because when I previewed the post, I could see them. But once it actually published, they disappeared for me.
