Rejection

ManDork was rejected, out right, no waiting list even. We were able to see his scores, so we know what he needs to work on next cycle. But we're emotionally exhausted, and very sad today. I'll pick a winner for the MN giveaway later.

5 Stubborn Stains:

  1. I'm so sorry. I know how disappointing that is. We felt the same way when my husband was trying to promote in the state police department. After six tries, he was finally the right candidate. I hope it happens faster for you!

  2. Holly, that totally sucks. Your situation, with some modifications, sounds kind of like ours, and we recently experienced a really, really difficult rejection. It's the worst -- I have all empathy for you. And we got our rejection on a Friday, too! As if rejection isn't bad enough, it's like the admin is trying to ruin the weekend! =P Best wishes to you and your fam!

  3. Oh! I forgot to mention this - Mark's brother, James, was rejected from the foreign service the first time he applied. He didn't do well enough on his Arabic. He decided to go to Jordan to practice more of the language (and wasn't able to go there and ended up going to Syria instead ... then his girlfriend broke up with him when he got back). He worked for the World Wildlife Fund to pass the time. But now he's in the foreign service and was stationed in Matamoros, Mexico for a while and is now going to Baghdad in the fall.

I guess what I'm trying to say is ... hopefully things will work out for you, too, even if it takes a year or two longer than you wanted. :) I'm so sorry he got rejected. That sucks.

You know the signs in the zoo that say "do not feed the animals"? Yeah, well...consider this a sign saying "PLEASE feed the author's ego!" I love comments, LOTS and LOTS of comments! ;)
