My Homemade Advent Calendar

DIY craft advent calendar Christmas I made this after seeing the idea in one of those seasonal craft magazines you get in the check-out line at the grocery. It’s just spruced up matchboxes tacked to a bulletin board. But I used scrapbooking paper instead of construction paper and went to town on little decorations {you can never have too much glitter, ever}. Here are all the boxes {click to see larger}:

And what’s inside?
DIY craft advent calendar ChristmasAn Andes mint! Yum!
There was only enough room in each matchbox for 1 candy, so Adam and I are taking turns. I get odd days, he gets even, except for days when our holiday house guests are here. Then they get the goodies. And on Christmas eve there will be an extra special something for my brother-in-law if he’s able to make it here. But I’m not telling yet what it is!
Come back tomorrow for more holiday pictures!

  5. I like it! Every year I mean to make my own calendar and then I don't. This looks like an easy enough idea that I'll have to try to keep it in mind for next year. Maybe next year my son will be old enough to decorate them for me.

You know the signs in the zoo that say "do not feed the animals"? Yeah, well...consider this a sign saying "PLEASE feed the author's ego!" I love comments, LOTS and LOTS of comments! ;)
